Habitat for Humanity needed a website that would spread their message of hope. People needed to be able to access the website and offer help (or receive help) from this charitable organization. The website needed to showcase the homes that Habitat builds for under-privileged families, and also bring attention to the homes they plan to build as well, and highlight and thank the volunteers that assist in these efforts.
This website needed to allow people to submit different types of donations and have those donations made in memory of, in celebration of, or in honor of a loved one or special event. In addition, they wanted to manage their organization's news, make people more aware of community events and projects, and allow website visitors to see galleries of past events.
They also wanted an area where they could focus on the current projects they were working on, allowing people to donate to these projects and show photo galleries, progress bars, and the overall fund-raising goals of these projects.
Habitat for Humanity's website was built using the ISOOSI Content Management System (CMS). The ISOOSI Content Management System is a custom coded "pure" ASP.NET web application, relying heavily on the core concepts of Object Oriented coding, setting the foundation for a truly modular solution. This core system also is designed with SEO visibility in mind, allowing for the user to quickly create web content with high visibility.
We developed several different ways for people to donate by creating a custom online payment gateway that serves as the backbone for the Brick Paver Program, Holiday Gift Giving Program, and even allows for straight donations to be given in honor of an event or person. All funds are instantly transferred to their organization. Donators instantly receive a dynamically-generated Certificate of Donation, and a thank you note.
We designed an online store where users can add gifts to their shopping cart, add customized messages, and download dynamic, printable cards in .PDF format.
We added many standard ISOOSI CMS modules as well. In addition to our event manager, news management module, and staff management module, we also created a video manager that allows both Vimeo and YouTube streaming videos, and a global settings management tool that allows administrators to manage the custom messages that are sent when a donation is made.
Another highly customized request was the project manager. This module allows the administrators to create, manage, and update individual Habitat for Humanity projects, set financial goals, track donations to the project, and create project photo galleries on the fly.
"Working with Carlos and his dedicated team has been a great experience," said Lisa Lefkow, Executive V.P. of Development Habitat for Humanity. "We now have a website that attracts significantly more visitors." "The website allows volunteers, donors and partner families to quickly and easily access any level of information that they need. We also have a customized Content Management System and a full online donation system that has been built and tailored to our exact needs."
