However, many members of our search marketing team have been administering paid search campaigns since before 2000 when Google launched its’ paid search program, AdWords.
Since those early days a lot has changed in the arena of paid search. Overture (an early paid search program from around 1998 to 2001, previously called GoTo.com) was rolled into Yahoo Search Marketing which continued for several years. The ads on Yahoo are now controlled by the Microsoft Search Advertising program and the Google AdWords program has gone through so many changes and improvements over the years – it almost bears no resemblance of its’ former self.
